Steve Griffiths

If you haven't guessed already, my name is Steve Griffiths - and this website is about me, so that people who have known me over the years can contact me if they want to! And people who have never met me before can get a brief insight into my life - coming here possibly through my profile in ChefMoz.

This site is a work in progress, one day I may even get round to making it look "good". If you are looking for a Steve Griffiths that maybe you went to school/college/university/work with and reckon it's me, then feel free to get in touch via the Contact Me page.

Currently lacking in photos all over the place, I'm going to add to sections when I get time. Hopefully one day this will be a nice little site - for me and people who know me (most of whom will laugh at it!). If you're here from ChefMoz - thank you for visiting!

Say No To Mereham - the rural nature of where I live is under threat from a developer who only has profit in mind. Their proposal is severly lacking in substance (except for the total number of pages, and the excessive use of the word "sustainable") - and shows a complete lack of knowledge or understand of the surrounding area. Their proposal would bring economic, environmental and lifestye chaos to thousands of people in the area - but by some means or other they have persuaded the Government to allow them an appeal - even though they have been rejected many times at local and regional level by democratically elected representatives.

If Mr Brown and his Government insist on building millions of houses, he should make sure that the proposals are up to scratch before even considering such appeals. Local knowledge should be the key consideration - not something swept under the carpet. This proposal is laughable, they were unable to defend it or answer any questions in during public exhibitions, yet managed to persuade a minister that it's a good idea. Perhaps we ought to coin the phase "NILBY" - Not In Labours Back Yard - as any development not affecting a Labour vote seems to be OK.
